Like many couples recently, Alyssa and Brandon had to separate their wedding reception from the ceremony day. While waiting for the day they could finally celebrate with more friends and family, the Bride decided to pivot her plan for wedding photography. I was not present at her ceremony, and she felt like the small details were lost in the expected moments. I specialize in capturing everything, big and small, so I was happy when asked to photograph their wedding reception. Alyssa expressed how important the details were to her and Brandon. As always, I made sure to document everything!
The collection you’ll see below features only the highlights of this summer backyard wedding. However, the full gallery I sent Alyssa and Brandon was packed full of even the smallest moments. Photos of the wedding decor and set up before guests arrived. More of guests mingling, and turning to face the camera. Images of the happy couple laughing in line as they chatted with guests. And all the photos they could ever want of their friends and family dancing late into the night.
If you and your fiance value having all of the details of your special day captured, no matter how small, I would love to work together. I want you to feel comfortable on your wedding day, knowing that everything is being documented how you dream of! Click here to contact me about my availability.
The outdoor wedding reception took place in the bride’s family home. This beautiful property is right up against the mountainside in Alpine, Utah. They brought in a tent, all white seating, and other details that elevated this backyard wedding. It felt like casual dinner party meets luxury wedding, with a dance party to complete the night of course.
The Bride has amazing taste, and planned almost everything for the reception herself. The outcome was so impressive, Utah Valley Bride featured this reception. Click here to read that feature, and more about the couple’s love story.
Diamond Event Rentals brought in an airy white tent, champagne colored tablecloths, and clear acrylic chairs to fill the backyard of this estate. This did so much to elevate this outdoor reception, and make it feel luxurious while still bright, breezy and summery.
Fun details included a vintage red truck as the gift table and a neon sign reading “The Wardrops” as the backdrop for the cake. The tent and other details above transformed this space from the bride’s childhood backyard to a stylish wedding venue. Meanwhile, these more casual details are what kept this event feel fresh and youthful, all fitting for the setting.
That feeling continued with the catering choices. Pulled pork sandwiches, a colorful seasonal charcuterie spread and a crepe bar – all prepared fresh right in front of you.
Finally, the happy couple sent everyone home with a personalized mini jar of Nutella – their favorite treat! What a fun and clever thank you gift. I understand why the bride wanted to make sure all of these amazing details were fully captured!
