Jess and Erick’s summer wedding day was just as vibrant, happy, and bright as they are. During their Jordan River Temple wedding photos, we embraced the lush greenery and bright white backdrop of the temple. Their color palette included punchy purples, yellows ranging from butter to gold, with hints of coffee brown in Erick’s bowtie and Jess’ bouquet. All of the details matched the joyful fun of this day, and I had so much fun complementing that in my photography and editing style.
After their religious wedding ceremony inside the LDS Temple, Jess and Erick came outside into the arms of their closest family and friends. The group was intimate enough I was able to get shots of the bride and groom with all of the smaller family groups and individual guests who had traveled there to celebrate with them.
You can see a few examples of those shots below, as well as Jess and Erick’s bridals and formal photos taken on the Temple grounds.
After coming outside to rejoin their happy guests, the focus turned to some solo photos. Jess and Erick set aside time on their wedding day for some bridals and formals, to avoid the stress of planning this shoot separately. I loved being able to capture these photos so quickly after their ceremony, because their joy was tangible. There was a new feeling of excitement mixed with peace in the air as Jess and Erick sunk into the feeling of being freshly married.
Personally, I have photographed bridals and formal wedding photos separately as well as on the wedding day many times. You can see examples of both here. I think there are pros and cons to either option. For example, a separate shoot means you are not rushed at all. However, that also means planning for an additional bouquet and HMUA session. Whereas, on your wedding day, you may not have a buffer for unexpected surprises, but you also get to capture the true emotion of being brand new newlyweds.
As we discuss your upcoming wedding dates, I am happy to help you talk through options. Together we will find the best times to capture all of the photos you are dreaming of. I will give my advice on what can fit properly into your dream wedding day, and when a separate shoot may be more fitting. No matter when we plan your pictures, I look forward to helping create a comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable photoshoot for you and your partner.
